UEH Biztech Hackathon is a competition where students can apply their valuable knowledge into practice by finding technological solutions to solve social problems. Within the framework of UEH Mekong Summer Camp 2023, the competition is for students from more than 10 key public universities of Economics, Business, Management in Vietnam and international students passionate about startups and innovation. This is an opportunity for them to connect with experts and businesses in different fields, improve themselves and achieve more successful milestones in their entrepreneurship journey.

THE TOPIC OF UEH BIZTECH HACKATHON 2023
With the theme of “Revolutionizing Agriculture,” UEH Biztech Hackathon 2023 seeks innovative ideas with technological solutions to create new valuable products or services for the sustainable development of agriculture.

HOW TO REGISTER
- Each team will consist of 5 members, including 4 members registered to participate in UEH Mekong Summer Camp program and 1 international student (actively invited by teams or arranged by the organizers)

UEH BIZTECH HACKATHON 2023 HIGHLIGHTS
Training sessions: These sessions are designed to coach participating teams in technology and innovation knowledge and skills.
- Gain more knowledge and skills about startup and innovation.
- Get an opportunity to connect to mentors, experts, teachers, and investors in many fields: business, technology, agriculture, innovations, etc.
28 working hours of experience
- Under expert guidance, participants will have 28 working hours to construct a Proof of Concept (POC) or Prototype for their group’s concept. The products aim to tackle the challenges related to technology, sustainable development, and innovation in the agricultural field.
Diversity of majors and backgrounds
- The participants are from different universities in Vietnam and international students, creating opportunities for all participants to learn and enhance themselves.
- International students can register to participate in the UEH Mekong Summer Camp program for two courses (taught in English): Logistics and Supply Chain Management (3 credits) and International Business Project Simulation (3 credits).
UEH BIZTECH HACKATHON 2023 TIMELINE
Registration round
- Register as an individual or a group of 04 (not including 1 international student). Group registration is highly recommended for members with knowledge and expertise in at least two fields: Economics – Management & Technology (Information Technology, Computer Science). If you register as an individual, the organizers will support you in team matching.
- Registration deadline: 22nd of June, 2023.
Preliminary round
- Time: From 23/06/2023 to 25/06/2023.
- The Organizer will choose teams with impressive performances to continue the competition. Results will be announced before the final round.
Final round:
- Part 1: Training activities
- Time: July 11 – July 21, 2023.
- Location: UEH Vinh Long Campus, 1B Nguyen Trung Truc, Ward 8, Vinh Long City, Vinh Long Province.

- Part 2: 28 Working hours
- Working time: From 06:00 am, 22/07/2023 to 11:00 pm, 23/07/2023.
- Location: UEH Vinh Long Campus, 1B Nguyen Trung Truc, Ward 8, Vinh Long City, Vinh Long Province.
- During the 28 working hours, participants will receive a suitable workspace and essential services for working, eating, and sleeping. In addition, many experts in diverse fields will be available to support the participating teams.
- Part 3: Presentation
- Time: 13:00 – 18:00 on 23/07/2023.
- Format: Pitching the project. Each group will have 10 minutes for the presentation, 4 minutes to present, and 6 minutes to debate with the competition judges.
- Marking criteria: Applicability of technology and innovation, usefulness and practicality, business potential, and commercialization.
- Language: English

PARTICIPATION COSTS
- For international students:
- Meal cost: USD 8$ for 8 meals in total (including breakfast, lunch and dinner)
- Accommodation and transportation costs: USD 10$ (100% sponsored by UEH)
- Mekong Trip cost (optional): USD 10$ per trip
- Tuition fee for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (3 credits) and International Business Project Simulation (3 credits) (optional): 530.000dong/credit ~ USD 23$/credit
THE SPECIAL AWARDS FOR PARTICIPANTS OF UEH BIZTECH HACKATHON 2023
1. There are several opportunities to receive support from the UII Startup Incubator (USI), including:
- The top 10 finalists will have the unique chance to receive support from USI through an incubation program, enabling them to develop their ideas further.
2. Moreover, participants will be able to participate in a series of workshops, allowing them to:
- Improve their knowledge and skills in business and entrepreneurship.
- Receive guidance and advice, and connect with distinguished lecturers and experts in business, startup, technology, and innovation.
3. Benefits exclusively for international students when participating:
- Fully supported with free transportation costs and accommodation at UEH Vinh Long.
- Eligible to register for the UEH Mekong Summer Camp 2023 program for two courses.
- Have the opportunity to participate in some experiential activities within the UEH Mekong Summer Camp 2023.
4. The Prize for the winning team: 25.000.000 VNĐ
UEH BIZTECH HACKATHON RULES
- Contents must be new solutions and ideas, not copied. The Organizing Committee does not accept ideas from research projects, theories, or scientific research topics that have already been published.
- Participants must commit to taking full responsibility for the project’s intellectual property rights. The Organizing Committee does not bear any blame for intellectual property rights or copyrights of projects.
- Students who are children or younger siblings of the Jury or the Organizing Committee members are not allowed to participate in the competition.
- The Organizing Committee has the right to decide on the winning project, idea, or solution.
- Supposing that the prize has been given to participants, but there are complaints about the contest project, the prize recipient is responsible for solving all related complaints. If there is authentic evidence that the winning project has been awarded for violating these rules, the Organizing Committee has the right to withdraw the prize.
- If problems happen during or after the competition, which is outside the regulations, The Organizing Committee has the right to make all decisions on judging.
