UEH BizTech Hackathon 2025 returns with the theme: “The Z-Flow: Flowing Vietnam’s Values by the Z Generation”

Awakening the creative spirit of the young generation in preserving and promoting Vietnamese heritage through technology and innovation. This year’s program is more than just a technology competition—it is a platform where Gen Z students truly take on the role of cultural guardians through a modern lens.



🎯 THEME OF THE 2025 COMPETITION: “The Z-Flow: Flowing Vietnam's Values by the Z Generation”

UEH BizTech Hackathon 2025 adopts the theme “The Z-Flow: Flowing Vietnam's Values by the Z Generation.” “The Z-Flow” represents not only the creative flow of Generation Z, but also symbolizes the cultural current of Vietnam being inherited, renewed, and spread by the youth in the digital era.

This is not merely an academic playground—it is a cultural-technological space where UEH students can demonstrate their professional capabilities while contributing to shaping a culturally rich and innovative future for the nation.

The theme underscores the role and mission of Generation Z in preserving, promoting, and developing Vietnamese values amidst globalization and digital transformation. It reflects the innovative spirit of the youth—energetic and creative “flows” connecting tradition with modernity, and indigenous values with advanced technologies.



THIS YEAR’S PROGRAM IS SUITABLE FOR:

  • Students majoring in Economics and Technology from universities across Ho Chi Minh City

  • International exchange students currently studying in Vietnam



🌟 HIGHLIGHTS OF UEH BIZTECH HACKATHON 2025

  • A series of training workshops on culture, technology, and innovation tailored for participating teams

  • Enrichment across diverse fields: Culture, Technology, Arts, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation

  • Opportunities for mentorship, support, and networking with leading faculty and industry experts

  • First-hand experience of an interdisciplinary space between technology, arts, and economics, aiming to create culturally distinctive solutions

  • 28 hours of intensive teamwork guided by professionals to build prototypes or proof of concepts (POC)

  • Focus on solving real-world issues in technology, sustainability, and innovation in heritage and culture

  • Multidisciplinary team collaboration with local and international students

📋 PROGRAM STRUCTURE

2.1 Registration Round

2.1.1 Online Application Submission

Participants may register individually or in teams of 5. Teams are encouraged to include members from at least two academic fields: Economics and Technology. For individual applicants, the Organizing Committee will assist with team matching based on entry test results and specialization.

  • Registration Period: June 23 – July 10, 2025

  • Team Matching & Result Announcement: June 24 – July 14, 2025 (via automated system)

2.1.2 Hackathon Promotion Activities

  • Purpose: To introduce types of cultural forms and applied technologies, helping contestants understand the core theme and identify suitable areas for their project

  • Duration: June 28 – July 11, 2025

  • Format: Workshops/Webinars held at Hall B1.302 (on-site)

2.2 Preliminary Round

Participants complete an online capability assessment via the UII ThinkSpace platform.

  • The test includes 25 multiple-choice questions and 1 short essay, assessing logic, critical thinking, and project readiness.

  • Testing period: July 12–13, 2025

  • The top 40 teams will advance to the Final Round.



2.3 Final Round

2.3.1 Training Program

  • Duration: July 21 – 31, 2025

  • Topics include:

    • Design thinking and innovation for user experience

    • Emerging technologies in digital arts and interactive design (AI Art, Robot Art, Interactive Visual Art)

    • Interactive storytelling and multimedia content development

    • Digital ethics, cultural preservation, and sustainable innovation

    • Presentation and pitching skills

    • Strategies for effective Hackathon participation

2.3.2 28-Hour Hackathon Challenge

  • Time: 07:00 AM, August 1 – 12:00 PM, August 2, 2025

  • Venue: Smart Library, 8th & 9th Floor – Nguyen Van Linh Campus, UEH

  • Activities:

    • Continuous team collaboration to develop a prototype or POC

    • On-site mentoring support

    • Submission deadline: 12:30 PM, August 2

2.3.3 Final Pitching

  • Time: 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM, August 2, 2025

  • Venue: Smart Library, 8th–9th Floor, Nguyen Van Linh Campus, UEH

  • Format: In-person pitching session

    • 10 minutes per team (5 minutes for presentation, 5 minutes for Q&A)

    • Evaluation criteria: Applicability, innovation, commercial potential, and social impact



🏆 AWARDS & DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

  • 🥇 1st Prize: VND 25,000,000/team + Certificate from UEH

  • 🥈 2nd Prize: VND 10,000,000/team + Certificate from UEH

  • 🥉 2 Third Prizes: VND 2,500,000/team + Certificate from UEH

  • Top 5 teams will be nominated for the UII Sandbox Incubation Program 2025 to further develop their projects.
