In the context of increasingly deep global integration, student learning today extends far beyond the classroom and needs to be enriched through practical experiences, multicultural environments, and international exchange opportunities. For students in the digital era, personal development is no longer defined solely by disciplinary knowledge, but also by adaptability, a global mindset, and the ability to work effectively across diverse international contexts.
Driven by this spirit, the UEH Institute of Innovation (UII) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) have officially advanced their collaboration to build a bridge of knowledge between students from the two countries. This marks a meaningful milestone in expanding the learning and experiential space for students, creating opportunities for them to connect, exchange experiences, learn from one another, and jointly develop innovative startup ideas and projects in an international environment.
Through this collaborative relationship, students are not only given greater access to new perspectives from international peers and partners, but are also placed in real-world contexts that require openness, connectivity, and proactiveness. This serves as an important foundation for learners to gradually build their capacity for global integration and their confidence in working across borders.
Recently, PitchMe – a pioneering EdTech startup from Singapore – launched its journey to identify dynamic young talents across Asia. Notably, the talented intern team participating in the program includes outstanding students from UII. This is not only an opportunity for students to experience an international working environment, but also a valuable occasion for them to engage directly in highly practical activities, collaborate with multinational teammates, and enhance their professional capabilities in the context of globalization.
In such an environment, geographical distance and language differences are no longer barriers, but rather catalysts for learning and growth. Working alongside individuals from different countries enables students not only to fulfill their assigned responsibilities effectively, but also to gradually build a strong foundation for a global mindset, international working skills, and readiness for future career opportunities.
The collaboration between UII and SUTD, as well as practical connections with partners such as PitchMe, clearly reflects UII’s development orientation in fostering a learning environment grounded in experience—where students can learn, work, and engage with international standards throughout their educational journey. This is also an important step in preparing learners to become more confident on their path toward global integration, innovation, and personal development in an ever-changing world.
