Welcome Ceremony for Cohort K51 Freshmen – UII Institute: Commencing a Journey of Innovation and Excellence

On September 19, 2025, the UII Institute solemnly held the Welcome Ceremony for Cohort K51 Freshmen, with the distinguished presence of faculty members, senior students, and the entire incoming class. Taking place at Lobby B1, Hall B1.302, and English Zone at UEH Campus B, the event created an atmosphere that was both vibrant and meaningful, officially marking the beginning of the freshmen’s academic journey within an institute committed to innovation, entrepreneurship, fintech, and the development of startup ecosystems.

Opening Activities – A Dynamic and Interactive Kickoff

Commencing at 1:00 PM, the program began with a series of engaging activities at Lobby B1.

The event opened with a Check-in Photo Booth, where students captured memorable moments using UII’s signature frame, symbolizing their official entrance into a dynamic academic environment. This activity not only served as a keepsake for their first day at university but also reflected the pride and honor of becoming part of a forward-thinking community dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship.

In parallel, the English Zone hosted a Handicraft Workshop, where students participated in creative activities such as making personalized bracelets and keychains. This initiative encouraged hands-on creativity and interaction while fostering connections and a sense of belonging among new students in a relaxed, collaborative setting.

From 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, students engaged in team-based interactive games designed to promote leadership, problem-solving, and innovative thinking. Guided by senior students from Cohort K50, known as Buddies, each team was provided with a game map and tasked with navigating through multiple stations, completing challenges that required teamwork and strategic collaboration. These activities not only fostered camaraderie but also introduced students to the collaborative and agile mindset essential for success in the fields of startups and fintech.

Upon completion, participants gathered and proceeded to the main hall for the Showcase program, the focal point of the day’s agenda.

Showcase Session – Orientation and Strategic Vision

At 5:00 PM, all participants convened at Hall B1.302 for the Showcase, a session designed to orient freshmen and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of their academic journey ahead.

The Showcase featured:

• Opening address and strategic guidance delivered by UII leadership, outlining the Institute’s mission to nurture innovation, cultivate entrepreneurial thinking, and equip students with the competencies necessary to thrive in startups, fintech, and innovation-driven enterprises.

• A detailed introduction to the UII ecosystem, including its academic culture, the V Campus model, and the Innovation Pathway, which serves as a roadmap for students to transform ideas into practical, impactful solutions.

• Experience-sharing presentations by senior students, providing valuable insights into academic life, skill development, and career pathways in entrepreneurship and emerging industries.

This session provided both inspiration and clarity, empowering freshmen to set meaningful goals and embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
