UII Academic Workshop – Sustainable Learning Architectures for Corporate Universities as Platforms for Intrapreneurship and Change in an International Context
On January 30th, 2026, the UEH Institute of Innovation (UII) hosted a scientific seminar titled “Sustainable Learning Architectures for Corporate Universities as Platforms for Intrapreneurship and Change in an International Context.” The event attracted the participation of staff, lecturers, researchers, and learners interested in educational innovation and organizational development.
Drawing from his extensive research and consulting experience, Prof. Dr. Rolf-Dieter Reineke – a research fellowship at UEH-UII and former Director of the MBA Program at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) – shared his perspectives on sustainable learning frameworks. His presentation emphasized the complementary relationship between academic education and corporate learning, while clarifying the role of corporate universities in supporting innovation and driving organizational transformation.
Beyond the main presentation, the seminar featured an open discussion between the speaker and the attending faculty, researchers, and students. The dialogue focused on how project-based learning, professional mentoring, competency coaching, and communities of practice can link learning activities with practical issues and the strategic direction of an organization. Through international examples, the seminar not only shared implementation experiences but also encouraged participants to reflect on how learning activities are currently designed and operated within their own organizational contexts.
Additionally, the seminar addressed key conditions for building effective and sustainable learning systems, including leadership commitment, alignment with organizational strategy, and clearly defining the role of the corporate university within overall human resource development.
